about

Hot Feet for Monkey God was the Sun Sawed in 1/2's first official full album after the EP, 'The Happiness' in 2002. The band had recorded a full album with former vocalist Chip DeClue in 2001 before new singer, Doug Bobenhouse joined in 2002 titled, "The Sun Sawed in 1/2." This album was only released on cassette and has remained impossible to find until now (all the tracks are included here as bonus tracks). Hot Feet was made at Smith-Lee and featured 12 new songs by Tim Rose. It also featured the line up of Tim Rose/guitars, vocals Doug Bobenhouse/lead vocals Ken Rose/ bass, vocals Dave Farver/keyboards, sax, lead vocal on "Grace" Jeff Bartholic/ guitars and Bill Yaeger on drums. Also included were Carl Pandolfi on organ solo on Mary Todd, Chris Bess on organ and accordion and Specimen on backing vocals. This was the band's most eclectic album with a psychedelic-world beat sound which would depart with Jeff Bartholic and Bill Yaeger on the subsequent albums. Here you get all the original Hot Feet tracks, two covers and the original Sun Sawed in 1/2 cassette only release. Plus, a few gems including Tim Rose's 2006 children's album tracks, Sun live on the radio, a song by Tim for his Italian ad agency, and one of the very first songs written and recorded by the core Sun boys, "Deja Vu" which dates all the way back to the 70s when they were kids. Enjoy this trip down Sunny lane.
